Location: Greenwell Springs, LA
Why did the customer contact us?
The homeowner called after having a pipe burst in the attic.
Solutions provided:
A representative from United Fire & Water went to the home and noted there was standing water and needed extraction, demo, and dry out. The leak came from a water supply line for the icemaker to the refrigerator. After getting the water shut off, the UF&W rep set up an injector dry system to remove water from the floors. All large appliances and cabinetry were protected with 6-mil polypropylene prior to flooring removal as there was a concern for mold growth under the flooring. The remediation contractor identified that the walls could be dried instead of removed. All water-damaged flooring and associated baseboards were removed from the home. UF&W cleaned all surfaces and contents in the room with an EPA registered antifungal/antimicrobial solution and HEPA vacuum methods.
