Job completed for Marguerite I.

Completion date: August 23, 2021

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Why did the customer contact us?

The client called stating they had a wet moldy pantry and wet bathroom walls.

Solutions provided:

United Fire & Water sent a professional to identify the origin of the leak. The leak originated from a drain pan for the HVAC in the attic that overflowed and drained onto the attic insulation damaging the ceiling drywall and draining into wall cavities causing additional damage. Due to the length of time this occurred, there was mold present on ceiling drywall as well as microbial growth on terra cotta tile in the pantry. Wood slats on the ceiling in the wine area were drooping and starting to detach from the ceiling. There was a water stain on the ceiling in the hallway bathroom adjacent to the kitchen pantry. A containment area was set up in the kitchen area in order to proceed with demo and to remove bagged drywall and insulation for disposal. Once demolition was complete everything was HEPA vacuumed and treated with an antimicrobial disinfectant. Finished with detail clean of floor, studs, sill plate, and framing. Set up a dehumidifier and air movers to dry remaining structures.
