Why did the customer contact us?

The homeowner called after having a small leak from their washer for months resulting in mold in the wall between the kitchen and laundry room.

Solutions provided:

A United Fire & Water professional investigated the damages after the leak had been fixed by a plumber. He noted the slow leak behind the washing machine had caused water damage to both sides of the wall shared between the kitchen and the laundry room. Extensive mold growth was found on the interior of the wall. Built-in cabinets on either side of the wall were removed, as well as the washer and dryer, and a refrigerator with a full height cabinet. A containment area was set up in the laundry room and in the kitchen. Air scrubbers, a dehumidifier, and fans were set up to remove particulates and mold spores from the air during remediation. The fans were used to dry the remaining structures. All mold was remediated and the surfaces were treated with an antimicrobial solution to mitigate future mold growth.
