United Fire and Water was called to a water damage emergency in Zachary, Louisiana, where a leak from the shower had flooded the entire house, causing extensive damage to multiple rooms. Our team responded quickly, dropping equipment and setting up containment to prevent the water from spreading further and to maintain a safe and controlled environment. The kitchen and living room were particularly affected, and we carefully packed out furniture and belongings to ensure they were protected during the restoration process.

Upon further inspection, we identified potential issues with the fireplace that required special attention. The area around the fireplace would need to be cut to ensure all water damage was addressed and to prevent future problems. The ceramic tile in the kitchen and the laminate flooring in the living room were both severely damaged and needed to be removed to allow for proper drying. Additionally, all the lower kitchen cabinets had to be removed to prevent moisture from lingering and to ensure that all affected materials were taken care of during the restoration.

To effectively address the water damage, United Fire and Water set up an extensive drying system, including 10 dehumidifiers, 10 air scrubbers, and 10 air movers. These machines were strategically placed to facilitate the drying process, remove excess moisture, and purify the air in the affected areas. Our team worked diligently to restore the home, ensuring that all areas were properly dried and that any potential for mold growth was minimized, leaving the home ready for the next steps in the repair and restoration process.
