Completion date: August 2, 2022
Location: Zachary, LA
Why did the customer contact us?
United Fire and Water was called to a water damage situation in Zachary, Louisiana, after a hot water heater leaked into the hallway bathroom, affecting only the ceiling. Upon inspection, a United Fire & Water representative identified the source of the leak and immediately set up drying equipment to mitigate further damage. One air mover and one dehumidifier were strategically placed to begin the drying process and ensure that moisture levels were properly controlled.
Solutions provided:
To address the damage, our team performed minor demolition, including the removal of the crown molding around the full-height cabinet in the bathroom. This was necessary to allow access to the wet materials and ensure thorough drying. In addition, the insulation from the attic that had been affected by the leak was removed to prevent any further moisture retention or mold growth. This step was essential to ensuring the area was completely dried out and that there would be no lingering moisture.
Throughout the process, United Fire and Water carefully monitored the drying equipment and moisture levels to ensure optimal results. The drying equipment was closely monitored to ensure that the moisture was being removed from the affected areas, and the crown molding and insulation were effectively removed. By the end of the job, the area was fully dried, and the moisture levels returned to normal, leaving the home in a safe and restored condition.
