Why did the customer contact us?
The office manager called stating a toilet had been leaking from upstairs and created ceiling damage. She also stated there is a hole in the roof and it smelled bad.
Solutions provided:
A representative from United Fire & Water went out to meet the owner and scope out the job. It was identified that the 2nd-floor men's restroom had some moisture readings. The 1st-floor men's restroom had damage to the plaster ceiling from the 2nd-floor toilet leaking. The plumbers were onsite to repair the leak. The ceiling needed replacing however, it was still wet and falling down in some areas. A dehumidifier and air scrubbers were placed in the 1st-floor men's restroom. We started demolition that day in the 1st-floor men's restroom. We put containment up, cut the ceiling to remove the affected area, and made a cut on the sheetrock wall to remove the affected areas. The affected areas were HEPA vacuumed then cleaned and treated with an antimicrobial spray. A dehumidifier and Velo Pro Air Scrubber were placed in the restroom. After all the areas were treated and dried, reconstruction was performed.
