Completion date: August 24, 2022

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Why did the customer contact us?

The homeowner's son called stating a back bathroom that is never used had water coming out of the toilet. A plumber was already in and had addressed the leak.

Solutions provided:

A United Fire & Water technician took an initial assessment of the bathroom toilet leak and identified saturated baseboards and surrounding drywall with significant mold growth. They performed a 2-ft flood cut of the drywall in the bathroom and adjacent laundry room. They also removed the insulation, quarter-round, and baseboards. They set up drying equipment including three axials, an air scrubber to remove particles from the air, and a dehumidifier to reduce moisture levels. Heavy cleaning with an antimicrobial solution was performed after the demolition as well as a HEPA vacuum. In less than a week moisture levels were returned to normal standards and renovation was started.
