The Founding of UF&W

United Fire & Water of Louisiana was founded by Kevin Hussey. Kevin got his start in the restoration industry in 1999. When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in 2005, Kevin left Colorado with a small fleet of vehicles and drying equipment. As restoration companies often do after a natural disaster, Kevin had planned to stay in New Orleans for 1-2 months, help with the damage caused by rains, wind, and flooding, and go home.

Louisiana’s people, culture and food had made its impression. He hasn’t left since.

Early this year, Kevin, alongside his wife Kelly, founded Cajun Maintenance. Cajun Maintenance serves as UFW’s parent company and was founded to meet the maintenance needs of residential & commercial clients in and around Baton Rouge.

Kevin Hussey - Scaled

 Kevin Hussey — Founder & CEO, Partner

Kevin got his start in the restoration & cleaning industry in 1998 by founding United Fire & Water Damage. When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in 2005, Kevin left Colorado with a small fleet of UFW vehicles. As restoration companies often do after a natural disaster, Kevin had planned to stay in New Orleans for 1-2 months, help with the damage caused by rains, wind, and flooding, and go home. Louisiana’s people, culture and food, however, had a profound affect. He hasn’t left since. After ten successful years with his company in Louisiana, Kevin founded Cajun Maintenance to better serve his clients. Kevin manages Cajun Maintenance alongside his wife Kelly. Together, they stay busy with work, food and cooking, raising their daughters, and, occasionally, watching some LSU football. Kevin holds LA State Lic #250487 for Mold Remediation, and LA State Home Improvement Lic #555937


Kelly Hussey - ScaledKelly Hussey — Chief Administrative Officer, Partner

Kelly is a native of Baton Rouge. She attended Woodlawn H.S. and was part of the Class of 1986. She is also a graduate of LSU.  Mrs. Hussey has spent much of her professional career in the healthcare industry, but she has also had employment with the Advocate, and and as a trainer with the YMCA here in the Capital City Region.  In 2014 she left her corporate purchasing position to help build Cajun Maintenance into the full service residential and commercial maintenance company it has become. Kelly is also a K9 aficionado and can regularly be found in their Woodland Ridge neighborhood, walking any one of their four rescue dogs.


Lee ComeauxLee Comeaux — Chief Financial Officer & General Manager, Partner

Lee joined the team at Cajun Maintenance in 2015 and brings 30 years of executive management experience along with him. Mr. Comeaux plays a large role behind the scenes, in both the financial and management aspects of our company. Lee wears many other hats in the day to day operations of our small company, from occasionally answering the phones, to customer service. Mr. Comeaux graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in accounting.


Cassie Phillips Cassie Phillips Sibenaller — Executive Director of Business Development

Cassie is a Northern California transplant who moved to Louisiana in February, 2007. She spent the first 12 years of her career in banking, most recently as the VP/Commercial Lending for a Louisiana Community Bank. In February 2016 she decided it was time for a change and went to work for one of her clients-Cajun Maintenance. Cassie is a six year member of BNI, a member of Associated Builders and Contractors, and an active volunteer for the Cystic Fibrosis foundation. She is a classically trained pianist, a twin, a super cool aunt to her niece Kimber, a self-proclaimed “foodie” and aspiring chef, and fervent dog lover. Cassie resides in Baton Rouge with her Army veteran husband Mark, and their dog CeCe and cat, Mahoney.


 Marcy Johnson — Administrative Assistant

Marcy attended Southeastern Louisiana University and pursued a career in Childcare Administration. Prior to joining CM, Marcy managed successful childcare facilities for large corporations, including a facility on the grounds of NASA. Her administration and office management experience, as well as her outstanding interpersonal skills, make her a huge asset to our organization.
