Our Two-Part Restoration Process

When your property suffers a water or fire damage loss, restoration is a two-part process:

  • Mitigation – Stabilizing and drying the structure
  • Repair – Returning your property to pre-loss condition
  • We do not work for insurance carriers or participate as program vendors. Our loyalty is to you, the policyholder/property owner.
  •

    What This Means for You

  • We work only for you, the property owner — never for insurance carriers.
  • Our process ensures your property is restored safely, correctly, and legally.
  • Daily documentation, ITEL verification, and supervisor oversight protect both your claim and your property.
  • Part 1: Mitigation

The goal of mitigation is to stop damage from spreading and stabilize your property.

  • Equipment Setup – Commercial dehumidifiers and air scrubbers are installed to control moisture and improve air quality.
  • Safety Testing – We test for asbestos and lead paint before demolition or removal of materials.
  • Water Category Testing – Using ATP testing, we identify the water category (clean, gray, black) to ensure proper cleaning and sanitization.
  • Drying Process – Drying typically lasts 4–6 days, depending on the extent of the loss.
  • Daily Monitoring – Our technicians return daily to record moisture readings and adjust equipment. This documentation is critical for insurance carrier approval and payment.

    Part 2: Repairs

Once mitigation is complete and your structure is dry, we begin the repair process.

  • Repair Manager Assessment – A repair manager will visit during mitigation to evaluate damage and repair needs.
  • Estimate Submission – A detailed repair estimate is submitted to the insurance carrier for approval before repairs begin.
  • Continuous Materials – Flooring or other continuous materials may require full removal/replacement to ensure a uniform finish.
  • Uncased Openings – Paint and finishes may extend into undamaged rooms when walls connect without separation.
  • Material Identification (ITEL Process) – We collect samples of damaged materials such as flooring, carpet, siding, or roofing, and send them to ITEL Laboratories for independent testing. ITEL provides an objective report identifying the exact product or a comparable replacement. This ensures your insurance carrier pays for the correct like-kind and quality replacement materials.
  • Supporting Your Claim – The ITEL report removes subjectivity from the discussion and strengthens your claim with independent verification.
  • Material Selection Assistance – Once ITEL confirms replacements, our team will guide you through selecting new materials. We help match your preferences while staying within the approved scope so your home not only returns to pre-loss condition but also feels right for your family.
  • Supervisor Oversight (OSHA Requirement) – Every project includes supervisor hours. OSHA regulations require professional oversight to ensure worker safety, building code compliance, proper material usage, and coordination of subcontractors. This protects both you and our crews.
  • Overhead & Profit – As required by Louisiana Department of Insurance statutes, our estimates include overhead and profit — a standard, approved cost of doing business for licensed contractors.
